This is a downloadable acrylic painting tutorial of purple pansies in a metal bucket. It is a step-by-step lesson demonstrating color mixtures using transparent colors first and then the addition of opaques. Transparent paints are layered in multiple sessions to create depth and richer colors, therefore, this tutorial is in two parts.
Part I and Part II:The process of painting rich and varying colors requires lots of layers and therefore, this video is a bit long. I recommend that you watch the video first and then have fun mixing and layering colors without feeling the pressure of copying exactly. PART ONE starts with the preparation of the canvas and then painting with the transparent colors. PART TWO continues with the opaque layers starting with the leaves, pot and then background. It ends with the final details.
To help you with your painting process, a PDF file is also included with a supply list, printable tracer (12x12 inch) and photo references.
The skill level for the Purple Potted Pansies painting tutorial is intermediate to advance for acrylic painters. The total length of the video/tutorial is 2 hours, one hour for each Part. The finished size of the painting is 12 x 12 inches. Supplies are not included in this video tutorial.
